Suzuki Bushfire Charity Auction includes once in a lifetime experiences and items of unobtanium
With the Suzuki Victorian Bushfire Charity Auction entering its final days, time is running out to bid on an exciting range of exclusive experiences and rare motorcycle memorabilia.
Bidding in the auction closes this Sunday night, 3 May, and will be one of the last opportunities to contribute to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Since opening last Thursday night, the auction has received bids from across Australia and around the world as the motorcycling community supports victims of the Victorian Bushfire tragedy.
“It’s been a great start to the auction,” Perry Morison, General Manager Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia, said.
“We’re pleased to see so many people getting involved to help a very worthwhile cause.
“The range of items has attracted a lot of interest, with memorabilia and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like the MotoGP Mechanic for the Day experiences going under the hammer.
“Everything is shaping up well for some frenetic bidding as the end of the auction on Sunday night approaches.”
A number of items, including a VIP MotoGP weekend, a signed Chad Reed motocross jersey and a Phillip Island ride day with Eco Resort accommodation package have already doubled their starting prices.
Early bidding has also been intense for a number of other rare, signed items of Suzuki racing memorabilia.
A pair of pre-season testing leathers from Australian MotoGP ace Chris Vermeulen is attracting significant attention, along with a pair of Reed’s Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki race pants.
International fans currently lead the bidding on signed helmets from Yukio Kagayama and Max Neukirchner, Team Suzuki Alstare Brux’s riders in the World Superbike Championship.
The 28-item auction features a wide range of memorabilia and experiences, including two exclusive opportunities to work with Team Rizla Suzuki MotoGP for a day during one round of the 2009 World Championship.
Helmets, leathers, boots, clothing, books and posters signed by Australian stars and past Suzuki World Champions including Kevin Schwantz, Roger DeCoster and Joel Robert are also up for grabs.
The first item, a VMX Suzuki Classic Dirt 4 poster signed by Brad Lackey, closes at 8pm (EST) on Sunday night, with the bidding on the final item, a ‘Mechanic for the Day’ experience with Team Rizla Suzuki MotoGP finishing at 10:15pm.
