Perth Motorcycle & Scooter Show, Back and Bigger then Ever!
September 11TH -13TH 2009

Perth Motorcycle & Scooter Show, Back and Bigger then Ever!  Western Australia’s largest motorcycling event the Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show is back, bigger and revved up to take place on Friday the 11th to Sunday 13 September at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. Take advantage of the Friday late night trading open to 9.00pm, come down after work and check out the show.

All the major brands will be on show including; Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Harley Davidson, Ducati, Buell, Morelli, Benelli, BMW, KTM, Husaberg, Triumph, Hyosung, Royal Enfield, Can Am Spyder, VMoto, Piaggio, Vespa, Pagsta, Bowell, Bug, Sym, Kymco, Puzey, Megelli, Sachs, Moto Vert, Xtreme Motorbikes and more!

The show features new release bikes including the new 2010 range from Harley Davidson, KTM, Husaberg as well as the new Ducati 1198 and Ducati Streetfighter. BMW will see the launch of the new BMW S 1000 RR and F800R Urban Street Bike as well as the R1200GSA A Tourer, G450X Sport Enduro and R1200RT SE Tourer. In addition to their full range of bikes, Triumph will have on display the new 2010 Thunderbird which is yet to be launched in Australia and due for release in October. The Thunderbird (already released over seas) has already won a number of ‘Cruiser of the year’ awards. Triumph will also be displaying the multi award winning Street Triple ‘R’ and Daytona 675. Kawasaki will have on show their new Vulcan 1700 range, Ninja ZX-6 and ZX-14 as well as the KX450F, TERYX 750 4X4 RUV plus their full range. Yamahas full range will be on display with the new release YZ250F while the Hyosung motorcycle range which has been given a major facelift and now features fuel-injection across the entire 250cc and 650cc V-twin 2010 model range will also be on display. Piaggio will be displaying a full line up of its Piaggio & Vespa models, from the cute & nippy ‘Zip 50’ through to Australia’s top selling Vespa the ‘GTS 300 Super’ and it’s amazing three wheeled ‘MP3’s’ cousins.

Come armed with credit cards ladies and gentlemen the new accessory hall is here and is probably the biggest display of motorcycling gear ever seen under one roof, and… it’s all for sale! There’s new releases plus great clearance lines of helmets, jackets, gloves, boots, motocross, street wear and bike hard wear to name a few, from all the major brands for men and women including; Honda, Shoei, HJC, M2R, DriRider, Teknic, Fly Racing, No Fear, SIDI, TCX, Yamaha, Alpinestars, Dainese, AGV, KBC, RST, Shift Street, Fox, Dirt Bike Chix, Wicked Gear and more. Kriega will be making their W.A. debut at this year’s Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show, bringing their premium brand of motorcycle backpacks, tailpacks and accessories to the west for the first time.

Not for the faint hearted, legend Matt Mingay’s (Stuntz Inc.) has a whole heap of new and insane stunt riding tricks ready to unleash on the Perth Motorcycle and Scooter Show spectators, certain to take your breath away. This year Matt will be bringing over his Harley Davidson stunt bike rated as the most popular attraction at the 2008 Sydney Motorcycle Show, if you never thought a Harley could be used as a stunt bike prepare to be amazed.

Up for more? The ASP Freestyle Motorcross Team will make your heart stop with their death defying aerial stunts. Like mountain goats on motorcycles the Pathfinders Trials Club will amaze you with their skill and precisions as they bounce their bikes across and unbelievable obstacle course. Take five, catch up with friends and grab a bite to eat at the Road Safety Council Safe Rider Café, while you’re there keep updated with all that’s happening on the roads, it pays to know what changes maybe coming our way and when. Or if there’s a thirst that needs quenching pull up a pew at the Bar and watch all the action on the Shannon’s Insurance Stage.

The Shannon’s Insurance Stage will be a hive of activity with fashion parades being held several times a day showing off the new season fashion and motorcycling gear from leading motorcycle and scooter brands, not forgetting the daily live music from local talent as well as interviews with motorcycling manufacturers about the new release bikes, models and much more. Next to the Stage, Shannon’s Insurance have once again put on a display of memorable motorcycles including vintage, classic and custom bikes which are well worth the look, and a must see for motorcycling fanatics.

Ever thought of riding a scooter? Well take one for a spin on the “come try riding” circuit, it’s a great introduction to scooter riding and gives you a chance to test a variety of scooters and find the scooter that best suits you. Each session takes about 10-15 minutes and you’re away! Book in a session when you get to the show, all you need is a current driver’s license and our trained instructors will guide you. Don’t forget to ask the instructors about obtaining your motorcycle licence, it’s really not that hard, the instructors will be happy to give you all the ins and outs to get you started.

Their 25th Anniversary Awareness Ride departs Saturday 12th September at 10.30am from Hillarys Boat Harbour and arrives at the show at 11.30am, $2.00 from your show entry fee is donated to Camp Quality. This year’s annual Make a Difference charity ride (M.A.D ride) will be incorporated into the show on Sunday 13th September raising much needed funds to aid research into spinal cord injuries. To take part, or for more details visit www.madride.org or witness the awesome sight as thousands of riders arrive at the show via the Esplanade at 11.30am.

With more giveaways then ever before surely it’s your time to win? There is a trip for two to the 2009 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix to be won as well as a stylish VMoto Milan Scooter, a TomTom Rider GPS system and for the kids a chance to win a Xtreme Moto XT70.

Getting to the show has never been easier with free motorcycle parking on the plaza level of the Centre opposite the Medina Hotel, follow the signs on Mounts Bay Road.
