2026 ANEC – Round Six

FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Grant Davis claimed victory in the NE Pro1 class at Round 6 of the 2026 American National Enduro Championship (ANEC) in New York on Sunday, holding off the Kawasaki mounted duo of Grant Baylor and Steward Baylor Jr. for the win, with Husqvarna mounted Craig Delong missing the podium.

“It was a good day in New York – we got first in the NE Pro1 Class and second overall. I had some good tests and some bad tests – I smashed my shoulder pretty good, but for my first event of this kind in two years, I’m happy with the result. Thanks to the team for all the help dialing me in.”

Steward Baylor

“I was riding really, really well to start the day. These woods suit my style, and I knew this would be a good day to capitalize,” Baylor explained. “Then we ran into some issues after the first test, and from there it just kind of snowballed. I think I tried to ride just a little too fast to compensate for what we had going on, and it bit me. After that, it was just about riding a consistent race, keeping the RPMs down, and making sure we got to the finish. Doug, Cody, and everybody under the Kawasaki tent worked together all day to keep the bike running as smooth as possible. On a day like today, getting to the finish and standing on the podium feels like a win.”

Craig DeLong

“I started a little slow early on at Barbed Wire,” commented DeLong. “I was in the mix for most of the day – just a couple of mistakes in the fifth test put me back a bit, and then the last test I had to lay it all out there and see what I could do, and we were able to win it. It was only just not enough for a podium, which stings, but we’ll get there. Thank you to the team for all the work they put in.”

In the NE Pro2 class, Jhak Walker took the win for Beta, with Jason Tino the runner-up, extending his standings lead, with Thorn Devlin rounding out the top three.

“Barbed Wire was pretty good. I started the day a little off the pace – the track was really dry and I think I was just trying to over-ride it. I cleaned it up by the end of the day with a solid final test, which I’m happy about, and it was nice to bank some solid championship points.”

Meanwhile in the NE Pro Women’s class, Korie Steede and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing maintained their perfect 2026 American National Enduro Championship record. Beta’s Rachel Gutish the runner up, and Shelby Turner rounding out the podium.

“The first test was tough – I just missed the mark on setup a little bit,” reflected Steede. “We made some adjustments that really paid off. I still made some mistakes, but the track was super-gnarly and difficult to read. Lots of rocks and roots, and I just tried to be consistent and was able to grab another win. I’m stoked!”

2026 FIM Speedway GP of Sweden – Malilla Report

Starting from gate four of the Speedway GP of Sweden – Malilla, Danish racer Anders Thomsen faced the daunting challenge of having the Speedway GP World Championship’s top three on his inside for his first Speedway GP final since he won the FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow in 2022.

But with Great Britain star Robert Lambert, Polish icon Bartosz Zmarzlik and Aussie ace Brady Kurtz warring on the inside line going into bend one, Thomsen cleared off for a famous victory as Malilla’s Skrotfrag Arena staged its 20th Speedway GP event.

Thomsen’s victory puts him 10th in the Speedway GP World Championship on 50 points – just five short of injured Aussie racer Jack Holder, who occupies the seventh and final automatic qualification place for 2027 on 55.

If Speedway GP first substitute rider Thomsen, who was covering for injured Great Britain star Dan Bewley in Malilla, races the final four rounds of this year, he stands every chance of earning a spot in next season’s series.

“I am really glad that I am not finished yet in the GP – I thought it was over. I just went into the meeting without pressure. I just said to the boys, ‘Let’s go have some fun, and let’s see what happens.’ Bartek and Robert were fighting on the inside gates in the final. Bartek was close to Robert, and I had a clear race on the outside in the dirt. Luckily, I got a good setup that was working in the dirt. It was great to be back in the final. When you get into the final, anything can happen.”

Thomsen’s final flourish denied Lambert a sensational Speedway GP maximum – a feat last achieved when Danish racer Leon Madsen won the FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Torun over seven rides on October 5, 2019.

But the double FIM Speedway of Nations world champion was still delighted to leave Malilla with second spot and 18 championship points, tightening his grip on third place in the standings as he moved on to 81 – 17 behind leader Zmarzlik, who has 98, with Kurtz on 93 in second.

“I wasn’t expecting to get a maximum throughout the whole meeting. It was nice to be straight through to the final because it’s the first time under the new format that I have been in that situation. It was a nice experience to be able to relax for a little while. But you are thinking a lot in that time – what to do in the final and which gate is the best option. Gates one and two were a 50/50 chance throughout the whole meeting and even in the LCQs. It was a hard decision, but I did my best, and second place is still great for me.”

SGP now looks forward to round seven at new Polish Speedway GP venue Lodz on Saturday, August 1, and the weekend gets started with the FIM SGP2 of Poland – Lodz – round two of the 2026 FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship on Friday, July 31.

2026 FIM SGP2 of Sweden – Malilla Report

Polish shooting star Wiktor Przyjemski made it a magical Malilla hat-trick on Friday night and admits his third BST FIM SGP2 of Sweden victory was the hardest-fought of them all.

Malilla’s Skrotfrag Arena has hosted the opening round of the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship for the third straight season, and Bydgoszcz hero Przyjemski has topped the podium in all three.

After fighting his way through the last-chance qualifiers to reach the final, he saw off a high-speed pursuit by Denmark’s 2025 SGP2 bronze medallist Mikkel Andersen, who was second, to take the win.

Third place was awarded to Danish racer Villads Nagel, who crashed on the last lap of the final after colliding with falling compatriot William Drejer, who was placed fourth.

But it was Przyjemski who left Malilla celebrating, delighted to get back on top of the SGP2 podium.

“It’s a great comeback to SGP2 for me after the injury I suffered last year. I am very happy with the win tonight. I don’t know what it is about Malilla. But of all three wins, this was the most difficult to achieve. Before the final, I did not believe in the setup we had. I didn’t believe that the risk we took would pay off. But it did pay off, and I am very happy with that. Track conditions changed. The beginning of the meeting was excellent for me and so was the final. In the middle part, we made some mistakes, but we recovered. We didn’t change a single thing from our setups for Qualifying for the duration of the 20 heats. It was the same setup, but we made slight changes for LCQ2. That paid off. Then we made a major change for the final. It paid off. I would have been happy with fourth place in the final considering everything that happened today. But it’s one of my favourite places. There is something about Malilla that I love and understand.”

Runner-up Andersen was pleased to reach the Malilla rostrum after enduring weeks blighted by the broken fibula that he suffered at the 2026 SON2 event in Prague on May 22.

“This is mega, to be honest. I can’t thank the team at my Polish club Wroclaw enough for their help and for what they have done for me, for all of their hospitality and physio. They have put in a lot of work, and they still are helping. The leg feels good when I am riding. It could still be better, but it is great to come here and put on a good show for everybody. We need to push in the second half of the season.”

Third-placed Nagel admits he needed time to assess his condition after his crash in the final, but he was content to leave Malilla with third place.

“I have a lot of adrenaline right now, so we need to wait a few minutes so that I can calm down and feel what’s going on in my body. It’s so far, so good. I feel like nothing is broken, so that’s a positive thing. Third place is okay. To be honest, it was a good night. The final was absolutely terrible. I made an alright start, but I ended up with a crash. It was not the best heat of the day, but I got the third place in the end, so I am happy with that.”
