The Reece Bancell Scholarship is proud to announce the continuation of the successful Junior Development Team collaboration with Yamaha and Yamaha Racing Developments (YRD) for the development of up and coming riders. This will be the 3rd successive year to assist young riders in their racing development and to give them the benefits and insights in to a full factory team, without the pressures.
We very pleased to present this prestigious award to Queensland young-gun, Mike Jones who will be supplied a Yamaha R6 Super Stock bike as well as the continued support from all the Reece Bancell Scholarship partners to enable Mike to contest the ASBK and AFX Series in 2011.
Mike is from Queensland and in only his 1st year of 600 Superstock road racing, finished 3rd overall in the 2010 ASBK Superstock Championship. With excellent performances throughout the year, along with his 6th overall placing in the Supersport class at the recent Australian MotoGP support event, Mike’s ability on and off the bike very much impressed the judges of the Reece Bancell Scholarship.
The Reece Bancell Scholarship is extremely proud and excited to award Mike with the Scholarship for the 2011 season and also takes this opportunity to sincerely thank ALL the Scholarship partners who have been on-board since the inception in 2004, and very much appreciates the support and participation and look forward to another successful season in 2011.
