2009 Australian Super X Championship dates announced
MA have announced the dates and locations for the 2009 Australian Supercross Championship.
Rd 1 – 17 October, Launceston Tasmania
Rd 2 – 24 October, Geelong Victoria
Rd 3 – 31 October, Perth Western Australia
Rd 4 – 7 November, Canberra A.C.T.
Rd 5 – 14 November, Sydney New South Wales
Rd 6 – 21 November, Hamilton New Zealand
Rd 7 – 5 December, Brisbane Queensland
Following on from its successful first year, Super X looks set to go from strength to strength in 2009 with the introduction of new race formats and Supercross star Chad Reed returning to defend his 2008 Championship crown.
Reed will this year be joined by Supercross legend Jeremy McGrath and a host of the world’s best riders as they line up against Australia’s hottest young talent.
Fox Sports will once again provide fans with live coverage of every race with Network Team airing a one hour highlights package the weekend after each round.
MA’s CEO, David White, said that it was great to once again have Global Action Sports bring Super X to both Australia and the world.
“In 2008 the team at Global Action Sports introduced the people of Australia to a new era in Supercross,” White said.
“It is a pleasure to once again have them at the helm of Supercross in Australia and I can’t wait to see all the action when the series opens in Tasmania.”
