BMW Motorcycle Sales 2025
BMW Motorrad has reported global motorcycle deliveries of 202,563 units in 2025, marking the fourth consecutive year the brand has exceeded the 200,000-unit threshold.
The result comes despite what BMW describes as a challenging global market environment, with pressure across the over-500 cc segment, ongoing price competition, regulatory complexity and changing trade conditions in key regions. Even so, BMW Motorrad recorded growth or stability across several major markets and closed the year with one of its strongest December performances on record.
December sales totalled 15,109 units, making it the third-best December result in BMW Motorrad’s history.
Australia among BMW Motorrad’s strongest markets
BMW Motorrad confirmed that Australia recorded its best-ever annual sales result in 2025, placing it among a group of standout markets for the brand last year that included Italy, Spain, Japan, Portugal, Canada, Malaysia and the Netherlands, all achieving record results.
While BMW did not publish individual Australian delivery numbers, the result reinforces Australia’s importance for BMW Motorrad as a premium motorcycle market, particularly in the adventure, touring and high-capacity road segments where BMW continues to perform strongly.
BMW Motorrad extended their standard warranty period to a market-leading five years in late 2022, which has helped instil further confidence in the brand.

Europe remains BMW Motorrad’s strong point
Europe continued to account for the majority of BMW Motorrad’s global sales, with 118,814 motorcycles delivered, representing a slight increase year-on-year.
Germany remained BMW Motorrad’s largest single market worldwide, with 25,516 units sold, followed by:
- France: 19,019
- Italy: 16,692
- Spain: 14,005
- Australia: 3553
BMW reported market share gains in Germany within the over-500 cc segment, highlighting continued strength in its domestic market.
Outside Europe, the United States (14,869 units), Brazil (14,488) and China (10,555) were identified as key contributors to the global total, despite regulatory and market constraints in those regions.
GS and boxer models continue to anchor sales
BMW Motorrad’s sales performance in 2025 was once again led by its boxer-powered adventure models.
The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure was the brand’s highest-volume model globally, with 33,570 units sold, closely followed by the BMW R 1300 GS on 32,555 units. Together, the two models accounted for more than 66,000 deliveries.
Almost one thousand new R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure models hit the Australian streets in 2025.

Globally, the BMW S 1000 RR was the highest-selling four-cylinder model, with 11,643 units, maintaining its position as a key contributor in the performance segment.
Middleweight, sport and urban mobility segments show breadth
BMW Motorrad reported continued growth in the middleweight segment, with 41,166 motorcycles sold, supported by strong demand for models such as the F 800 GS, F 900 R and F 900 GS.
In the four-cylinder performance category, BMW sold 20,859 S-series models, rising to 28,408 units when M-branded models, including the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR, are included.
Urban mobility models also contributed steadily, with the C 400 GT, C 400 X, and electric CE 04 and CE 02 combining for more than 18,400 units globally.
New models influence sales mix
BMW Motorrad credited the introduction of several updated and new models for supporting sales through 2025, including the R 1300 RT, R 1300 R and R 1300 RS, which joined the R 1300 GS platform.
The R 12 G/S, drawing on BMW’s air and oil-cooled boxer heritage, also exceeded initial expectations during its first year on sale.

Outlook for 2026
Key developments scheduled for 2026 include the market launch of the BMW F 450 GS, expected to expand BMW’s presence in the lower-capacity adventure category.
