Contingency money announced for MD250H riders
Honda Australia has announced a contingency race plan for all privateer MD250H Honda riders who compete in the remaining rounds of the Australian Road Racing Championships in the 125GP class.
Competitors who own a MD250H simply need to register by obtaining forms from either Honda Australia or Motologic, and they will then be eligible to claim bonuses for being the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th MD250H across the line, regardless of overall placing.
Bonuses apply for any of the remaining four rounds of the ASC series, and will be paid to registered privateers as follows: 1st – $500 , 2nd – $250, 3rd – $150, 4th – $125, 5th – $100.
The next round of the ASC will be a double-header held at Queensland Raceway, July 10-13. Round six will be held in Tasmania at Symmons Plains, August 29-31 with the final round taking place at Eastern Creek, NSW, October 17-19.
Honda’s General Manager, Motorcycles, Tony Hinton said the MD250 race plan is a fantastic way to further encourage young riders into the sport, and to expand on Honda’s commitment to the effort.
“We have a few MD250 riders on board now and we want to provide those kids some extra support where we can,” he said.
“It is always hard financially to get a racing career off the ground, so these rewards should help them somewhat to do that.”
The MD250H is powered by a 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, electric start, single cylinder engine, and has been introduced to offer a stepping stone for 15 year old road riders who are looking for a way to move from junior to senior level racing.
It is available now for $14,990 from selected Dealers including Brisbane Motorcycles, Sydney City Motorcycles (Lane Cove), Motologic (VIC), Honda World (SA) and the Honda Shop (WA).
Interested riders should obtain the relevant application and claim forms from Paul Free, Teknic Honda Team Manager at the racetrack at any of the coming ASC rounds. Alternatively contact Lisa Evans at Honda Australia on (03) 92701183; e: [email protected]
