Moto Guzzi marks 105 years with new Mandello factory and museum
Moto Guzzi will mark its 105th anniversary by opening its redeveloped factory and new museum at Mandello del Lario during Moto Guzzi World Days 2026.
The four-day gathering will run from September 3-6 at the marque’s historic home on the eastern shore of Lake Como, where Moto Guzzi motorcycles have been produced continuously since 1921.
Promising the largest Moto Guzzi World Days yet, the event will combine the opening of the new facilities with the traditional gathering of Guzzisti from around the world, supported by test rides, entertainment, live music and a mass motorcycle parade.
A new chapter at Mandello del Lario
The Mandello site has undergone a major transformation, creating a modern manufacturing and visitor complex while retaining its connection to the factory established more than a century ago.
The new production facilities remain within the perimeter of the original factory and are intended to combine contemporary manufacturing technology with the history and character of the Moto Guzzi brand.
Moto Guzzi says the facility will produce the next generation of motorcycles carrying the Mandello Eagle, while also creating a destination capable of welcoming owners, enthusiasts and visitors throughout the year.
The redevelopment brings manufacturing, brand heritage, customer experiences and public facilities together at the one location, strengthening Mandello del Lario’s position as both Moto Guzzi’s production home and the spiritual centre of the marque.
New Moto Guzzi Museum
A new Moto Guzzi Museum will form a central part of the complex, presenting more than a century of motorcycles, engineering and competition history.
The museum is designed to take visitors through the technical development, design milestones and sporting achievements that have shaped Moto Guzzi since the company was founded in 1921.
Moto Guzzi’s history spans everything from lightweight post-war transport and long-distance touring machines to Grand Prix racers, military motorcycles and the transverse V-twins that eventually became the company’s mechanical signature.
The broader visitor complex will also include a large Motoplex Store, café, workshop and dedicated event spaces, together with a range of interactive and immersive brand experiences.
Access to the new factory and museum facilities will be free throughout Moto Guzzi World Days, although visitors will be required to register before attending.
The biggest Moto Guzzi World Days yet
Tens of thousands of Moto Guzzi owners and motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to travel to Mandello del Lario for the 2026 gathering.
The centrepiece of the weekend will be the traditional grand parade on Saturday morning. Thousands of Moto Guzzi motorcycles representing different generations of the marque will travel from Lecco to Mandello del Lario.
The parade has long been one of the defining attractions of Moto Guzzi World Days, filling the roads around Lake Como with everything from historic singles and early V-twins to California cruisers, Le Mans sportsbikes and the latest V7, V85 and Stelvio models.
Visitors will also be offered free test rides across the contemporary Moto Guzzi range, while Virgin Radio will host live music and entertainment throughout the event.
Street food, exhibitions and a full programme of activities will operate across the four days, with the event open to Moto Guzzi owners and the wider public.
105 years at the same home
Few motorcycle manufacturers retain such a direct connection with their place of origin. Moto Guzzi was founded in 1921 and has continued to build motorcycles at Mandello del Lario for the entirety of its 105-year history.
The opening of the new factory and museum therefore represents more than an expansion of the existing site. It is intended to preserve Moto Guzzi’s heritage while preparing the Mandello operation for the company’s next phase of motorcycle production.
