The Reece Bancell Memorial Association ( RBMA ) is very excited to partner with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation as the official charity for the 2009 Iveco Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island in October.
A message from Jill Bancell
For myself and the committee, becoming the official charity for the 2009 Iveco Australian MotoGP is certainly the highlight of the year and it is a huge milestone for our hard working volunteers, as it shows our efforts are being recognised on a global scale. We are truly honoured to have been chosen amongst many deserving charities, and will be doing our best to promote our cause at this most prestigious of events.
The word charity implies an intense concern for the welfare of others and in a world where we tend to get swept up with the day to day activities we hope that we (RBMA) can show others through practical application how you can make a difference to the lives of others.
To map out a course of action and plan to start a charity when you have experienced a loss is not an easy task, but neither is it impossible when you have the love and support of friends and family, and the determination to ensure that the loss of Reece was not in vain. I know that Reece would be as proud and privileged as I am to be chosen as the official charity of the 2009 Iveco Australian MotoGP, and from myself, my family and the committee, we would like to express our gratitude for the opportunity to shine as official charity.
This is such an amazing and exciting opportunity for us to promote the RBMA’s goals and objectives of rider safety on the race track and on the road. It also serves as one of the most significant events in which we can promote these goals in memory of Reece, whose ultimate dream was to be a MotoGP champion. We look forward to working with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, with the ever-present goal of increasing the safety level of all motorcycle riders.
I would like to remind everyone, that “No One Has To Go It Alone”.
