RRPA rolls on to Winton after popular second outing
There’s just two weeks to go before Alex Gobert’s Road Race Performance Academy heads down south to Winton for its inaugural event in Victoria on 11 November. Entries are still open, with the program’s reduced price of $275.00 proving a hit since it was introduced last week.
Gobert and his team of RRPA coaches and guests will conduct the all-new riding development program at the technical Victorian circuit, marking the first time that RRPA has travelled outside of its home state of New South Wales.
Guests at RRPA events to date have included recently crowned Australian Superbike Champion Glenn Allerton, as well as 2004 Australian Superbike and Supersport Champion Adam ‘Krusty’ Fergusson.
Featuring show bags on arrival, prize giveaways and course completion certificates, the RRPA program encourages all skill levels of riders to participate, and teaches techniques such as cornering, body position, braking, throttle control, shifting, vision and much more.
Winton’s debut will also see Juniors taking part in the program for the first time, following successful one-on-one sessions with many Junior aspiring road racers.
The school’s most recent event at Oran Park last week was a very popular affair, with feedback from the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes very positive.
“Awesome day — I was stoked,” said one of the Beginner participants. “I gained so much more confidence on my bike and around the track. I couldn’t be happier, thanks Alex and [the] team.”
Further feedback from the Beginner class was: “Well done on a great day. Very well organised and I have taken a lot away from it. I got the most value from the drills on body positioning, trail braking and counter steering.”
“Thanks for a very enjoyable, informative and tyring day,” added an Intermediate student.
Another said: “Thanks for a great day yesterday. We really enjoyed it and appreciated the feedback from yourself and [the coaches]. We’ll definitely be coming back for a refresher course.”
“Enjoyed the day,” added another participant. “It’s good that we’re not only given track riding techniques, but we also covered local tips like how to handle the flip-flop. I look forward to be in [another] course.”
“What a totally awesome day. The day ran very smoothly and professionally. Very happy with it,” said yet another satisfied Intermediate student.
“I learnt some great techniques about fault-finding my riding which had me constantly improve through the day. I believe I found my mojo out there! Thanks Alex!” enthused one of the Advanced riders.

ALEX GOBERT:
“It’s an exciting time for RRPA as we really begin to get the ball rolling, and the experience so far has been incredible. The team and I have learnt so much and it’s been an excellent feeling to be able to assist so many riders and see them satisfied at the end of the day. Adding a junior session to the Winton event will make the event unique, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
