Honda ‘Motokids’ heads north to Mackay
The exciting new Honda ‘Motokids’ Program is gaining momentum as it heads around the country in its first year. The next stop on the calendar is Mackay in tropical north Queensland, scheduled for the 29th May.
The region is packed with young motorcycle enthusiasts and in need of a structured ride day such as this to keep kids safe when riding their dirt bikes.
Local motorcycle dealer Redline Honda is right behind the event and will have Honda’s full range of mini fun bikes there on the day for excited young kids to come and try.
Event organiser and Director of the BCP Program Lee Hogan is happy with the direction Honda ‘Motokids’ is heading.
“We are now well and truly up and running and it’s a real eye opener seeing how excited these kids get on the day,” said Hogan.
“So far it seems to be bridging the gap between buying a bike off the showroom floor and being able to ride it safely. It’s important that even young kids that just want to ride around a farm have the right skills and safety precautions.”
Honda Motorcycles General Manager Tony Hinton has played a key role in getting Honda ‘Motokids’ up and running.
“We’re thrilled to be involved with Lee Hogan’s new Motokids program,” said Tony Hinton.
“The benefits of having a structured program in place for these kids to develop safe riding techniques in a controlled and fun environment is invaluable.”
“Many of these young riders will go on to bigger road and off road bikes in the future, so it’s a great way to get them thinking about the right way to do things early on in their riding career.”
With events planned nation-wide throughout 2010 the Honda ‘Motokids’ are just getting warmed up.
