Kayo and Foxtel extend Australian MotoGP broadcast deal
Kayo Sports and Foxtel will continue to carry every round of the MotoGP World Championship in Australia under a new multi-year broadcast agreement commencing in 2027.
The extension with MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group maintains the existing comprehensive coverage arrangement, with every MotoGP practice session, qualifying session and race to be shown live and in high definition.
Racing will continue to be broadcast without advertising breaks.
The length and financial terms of the new agreement have not been disclosed. The announcement also does not detail any separate free-to-air arrangements for selected events, including the Australian Grand Prix.
Foxtel partnership reaches 30 years
Foxtel says the commencement of the new agreement in 2027 will mark 30 years since it first became an Australian MotoGP broadcast partner.
Kayo Sports subsequently added a streaming option to the Foxtel Group’s motorcycle racing coverage. Both Kayo and Foxtel are now owned by international sports streaming company DAZN, which acquired the Foxtel Group in 2025.
“2027 marks 30 years as broadcast partner for MotoGP, representing three decades of supporting and growing alongside the sport,” Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany said.
Delany said the new agreement would maintain full-season access for Australian viewers and also pointed to the group’s MotorRacing 360 program as part of its broader motorsport coverage.
MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group Deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta described the arrangement as the longest broadcast partnership in MotoGP history.
“This new agreement further extends what is the longest broadcast partnership in MotoGP’s history,” Ezpeleta said. “Australia has always been one of MotoGP’s most passionate markets, and we are delighted to extend our partnership with DAZN’s Kayo Sports and Foxtel.”
New regulations and Adelaide arrive in 2027
The renewed broadcast agreement begins at a significant point for MotoGP, with major technical regulations taking effect in 2027 and the Australian round moving from Phillip Island to the new Adelaide street circuit.
Phillip Island is scheduled to host its final Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix from Friday, October 23, 2026, before Adelaide takes over as the event’s home the following season.
Kayo Sports and Foxtel have also recently extended their Australian broadcast agreements with Formula 1 and Supercars.
