KTM restructuring continues

Bajaj Mobility AG, formerly known as Pierer Mobility AG, has reported an estimated 2025 revenue of just over €1 billion as the group continues a wide-ranging restructuring of its motorcycle business, including KTM, Husqvarna and GASGAS, following the insolvency of KTM AG at the end of 2024.

The 2025 figure represents a year-on-year decline of approximately 46 per cent. Motorcycle sales for the 2025 financial year totalled 209,704 units, down 28 per cent compared to the previous year, although the company reported a positive trend in the second half of the year.

According to the group, 80,464 motorcycles were sold directly by Bajaj Mobility in the second half of 2025, a 60 per cent increase compared to the first half of the year as production once again began to ramp up. A further 43,956 motorcycles were sold during the same period through strategic partner Bajaj Auto, also contributing to the improved second-half performance.

A central element of the restructuring has been a substantial reduction in inventory. Motorcycle stock levels were reduced by more than 100,000 units during 2025, falling from 248,580 units at the end of 2024 to 147,427 units by December 31, 2025. The company described this reduction as a key milestone in stabilising KTM’s operations.

For the Australian market, Bajaj Mobility’s restructuring has direct relevance for KTM, Husqvarna Motorcycles and GASGAS, all of which operate within tightly forecasted dealer networks.

As part of its strategic realignment, Bajaj Mobility has exited its bicycle business. Sales of e-bicycles and bicycles in 2025 totalled 64,110 units, down from 106,311 units in the previous year, as the division was wound down.

The restructuring has also resulted in a significant reduction in staff numbers. Following the completion of restructuring measures in 2025, KTM AG has begun a global rightsizing program aimed at lowering fixed costs, streamlining management structures, narrowing the product and project portfolio, and optimising its international footprint. Around 500 positions, primarily in white-collar and middle management roles, have been cut across the group.

Employee numbers fell from 5,310 at the end of 2024 to 3,794 by December 31, 2025.

“This reduction in positions is a difficult but necessary decision to lower our costs, slim down structures, and thereby place the company on a stable footing for the long term,” said CEO Gottfried Neumeister. “We are reducing complexity across all areas—for example, in our model range, in IT, and also in the organisation of our departments, particularly by removing one management layer.”

Bajaj Mobility said the measures are intended to improve long-term competitiveness and operational efficiency across its motorcycle brands. Preliminary full-year financial results for the 2025 fiscal year are scheduled to be published on January 29, 2026.

Bajaj Mobility AG is the holding company of the KTM Group, which includes the KTM, Husqvarna, and GASGAS motorcycle brands, as well as WP suspension and electric-vehicle operations.

In 2025, the company had already divested its bicycle business with the sale of FELT Bicycles. The termination of the distribution of CFMOTO and the sale of MV Agusta and X-Bow marked further milestones in the realignment.

In 2025, KTM achieved record successes in motorsport with 29 championship titles.

Name change completed

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, the change of the company name to Bajaj Mobility AG (formerly PIERER Mobility AG) and the relocation of the registered office, as resolved at the extraordinary general meeting on November 19, 2025, have been entered in the commercial register. The company’s headquarters are located in Mattighofen.
