Polaris has appoointed motorcycle industry veteran Perry Morison to the position of Executive Director – Government Relations with Polaris Industries Australia & New Zealand.

After 16.5 years heading up Suzuki’s motorcycle division as General Manager, Morison will take on this newly-created senior role at Polaris in the midst of the most exciting growth era in the company’s history which has seen the recent release of 11 new products and the creation of completely new market segments such as Sportsman ACE and Polaris UTE.

After a stint at Honda Australia, Morison became marketing manager at Suzuki in 1997, and not long after that assumed the role of General Manager

Aside from his lengthy tenure and impressive record leading Suzuki, Morison has also been active at an executive level within the motorcycle and ATV industry, not least of which as the FCAI’s Motorcycle Group & ATV Group Chairperson. Morison has consistently been involved in the most significant industry issues and achievements and was widely regarded as one of the key drivers behind the successful Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS).

Known widely as one of the good guys of the motorcycle industry, Morison will head up a number of initiatives on behalf of Polaris relating to corporate governance, legislation, compliance and broader industry issues.

“The growth of Polaris over the past ten years has been nothing short of astronomical,” said Morison.

“However the most appealing aspect of Polaris is the constant innovation and scope for phenomenal growth for many years to come.

“I’ll be joining an organization that is committed to aggressively pursuing growth, creating market opportunities and constantly setting the benchmarks across all aspects of the industry.

“I’m particularly excited by the opportunity of working with Polaris’ extensive side x side range and the 17 models the company offers locally with ROPS, including the all new Sportsman ACE.”

Buoyed by the appointment of Morison to this role, Polaris Australia & New Zealand Manager Director, Peter Alexander, described it as a “giant leap forward” for the fully-owned Australian and New Zealand subsidiary.

“It is a rare opportunity to secure someone of the experience and caliber of Perry,” Alexander said.

“Perry will play a pivotal role in what is, without a doubt, the most exciting era Polaris has ever had, both locally and abroad.

“Both Polaris and the broader industry continue to invest in a number of important issues and Perry’s experience will be invaluable in driving our brand and our industry forward for many years to come.”
