Moss Brothers Carve it up in Maitland at Yamaha MX Cross Cup finale

Team Shift Motul Suzuki riders Matt and Jake Moss both dominated their respective classes yesterday at the final round of the Yamaha MX Cross Cup event held at Maitland Showground.

With showers the night before, track conditions were perfect for a great day of racing, with over 230 riders vying for class wins and series points.

Phil Sargent (Dirt Bike Promotions) designer and Barry Reed (father of Jason Reed) track builder, created a very challenging stadium motocross track which was similar to a small Supercross track.

Jake Moss now based in Murrieta (USA), wowed the crowd as he hit the track winning all three motos in the Pro Open Class, followed by Muswellbrook’s Nathan Brochtrup and Luke Davis (Albury) who finished in third place.

“It’s great to be home, I had great fun today and always like riding Sarge’s events, said Jake Moss”

Australian Supercross and Motocross Champion Matt Moss, from Sussex Inlet (NSW) won all three motos convincingly in the Pro Lites class. Luke Davis finished second and Kieran Tisdale placed third.

The six rounds of the Yamaha MX Cross Cup were held right across NSW visiting Orange twice, Lithgow, Dunedoo, Queanbeyan and Maitland.

DBP would like to thank the loyal riders, families and sponsors who have supported the series this year and we look forward to promoting a Stadium Motocross Series for 2010.

Racing was close in most classes throughout the whole series. Class winners and overall series results are:
